As an arts educator I have always enjoyed sharing the knowledge and experience of clay with other people. I currently do this by teaching regular weekly classes and through virtual and in-person workshops.
You can see upcoming classes and workshops below.
If you are interested in having me give a demonstration or teach a workshop for your school or arts center, please visit my WORKSHOP INQUIRY page.
Upcoming Workshops

Join ceramic artist Sarah German for a hands-on workshop exploring her techniques for building colorful, woven coil baskets.
Sarah will guide you through her process for creating architecturally inspired patterns using woven coils and multiple colors of clay. You’ll learn how she designs and lays out her patterns, builds delicate but strong structures, and combines color and form to create unique ceramic baskets.
This workshop is a chance to learn Sarah German’s woven coil basket techniques while developing your own approach to pattern, color, and ceramic handbuilding.
Whether you’re interested in coil building, colored clay, contemporary ceramic basketry, or expanding your handbuilding skills, you’ll leave with new techniques and a basket that is uniquely yours.
Held at The Clay Department in San Antonio, Texas.

I am currently serving as a Coordinator for Greater Austin Clay Artists. GACA is an informal network of ceramic artists working in the Austin area who are committed to sharing a passion for clay and offering opportunities for professional and artistic development. We're a volunteer organization that has monthly meetings where we focus on sharing information about clay and network with fellow clay artists. Local artists volunteer their time and talent to give demonstrations, workshops, and slide presentations for the group’s benefit.
