As an arts educator I have always enjoyed sharing the knowledge and experience of clay with other people. I am currently doing this by teaching regular weekly classes and through virtual and in-person workshops.  If you are interested in having me give a demonstration or teach a class or workshop for your school or arts center, please reach out to me through my CONTACT page.

Upcoming Workshops

Woven Coil Structures in Functional Work

Pocosin Arts School of Fine Crafts - Virtual Workshop

In this workshop Sarah will demonstrate her technique of building woven coil structures that accent her functional pieces. Learn how Sarah lays out her architecturally inspired patterns, builds them through weaving colored coils of clay, and combines them with solid forms to create delicate but strong pieces. Various techniques will be discussed during the course of the workshop, including rolling consistent coils, weaving and attaching coils to avoid cracking, weaving flat versus weaving on a mold, and working with multiple colors of clay in one piece.

Saturday, June 4, 2022, 4-6pm EST, $75
